Alright, ever since I bought this new computer with windows Vista I can hardly play 7.6 servers. The graphics are slightly twisted, more square-like. And I'm lagging almost constantly, not the usual server lag but something else. I don't "fly" as smoothly as before when I run, the mouse pointer reacts slowly when I right-click on a rune (and when I left-click to use it), there's a delay when I jump up and down ramps, I can't have MSN or windows media player running while playing, I lag even more when there are lots of monsters on the screen (that might be normal, I dont know) or when I get spammed by GFBs, as an example. As I know almost nothing about computers there's no way I cna fix this. Hence why I'm asking whether anyone had this problem before or whether anyone knows what to do. I'm playing with low fps (16 as highest, usually 10-12) when I'm running 7.6, but 7.92 works perfectly. Any attempts to help are appreciated, I would like to return and fight again, but I can't do that as it is now. |

Have u downloaded new videocard drivers? Even if u have they might not have any effect on it cuz vista sucks hard. Try it if u havent yet. Its just that vista doesnt have many working videocard drivers and I had the same problem when I didnt have the newest drivers for my videocard. |
Life is all about ASS. Everyone is either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, trying to get a piece of it or simply just being it.

Well, I don't know much about computers either but I was going to buy a Windows Vista for myself but some rl's gave me the advice not to buy it since it's "too new" and it's a sucky computer to play Tibia with, No idea why but that's what I heard. |

well i`m the guy from the forum and in my opinion in 2 words: vista sux. really i downloaded tibia on my laptop ( where i have vista on) and when i wanted to play i had soo much lag that i was thinking about stoping with tibia. well in 1/2 weeks i deleted some programs like msn, windows media player, word excel etc... and it was alot better. not i have a other pc with windows XP and i play tibia on that computer and normal internet or msn on my laptop. soo sorry i think you cant fix the problem off the lags/freezes..... i also died like 4/5 times on demons in enzoland cause of debug ( dont know if it was vista or just the place) another problem off vista is: when you can wireless internet he stop connecting all the time( my problem) soo when i wanted to hunt and i was on demons/dls or something else internet lost so i died ;( well for you good luck and i hope you can fix it.

Well the problem is, Windows Vista takes up to 1GB ram memory. Most computers got -1GB RAM, which makes playing games laggy. You could try to play tibia in Windows 98 mode & Install latest DirectX, althou it comes with the new Service pack. Depending on your computer, example: dell etc. You can look at the back of it (service tag) and go to www.dell.com and fill in your service tag at support, then you'll be linked to a download page, where you can download drivers for video/multimedia/latest BIOS etc. If you need some help/assitance drop ur msn or w/e /bas |

^I would like to add, that your videocard which will probally have 256-512MB memory, could be shared, as in it'll use RAM memory aswell. anyway, if u need help just tell me OT: I got told that you can downgrade your vista (legally) for free, within 6 months or so. OT2: Just read that you didn't had any problems with 7,92 OT. That's probally because of the latest DirectX installed, and as 7,6 is in less graphical compibility it might causes it to lag. |

Like you say here, "it's too new". That's true, and also Windows release a BETA version before the real version of Vista in this case. People will find bugs with it and report it, then they fix it and release the "real" version of Vista. That's what I've heard from lots of friends of mine and other people. /Snus |
