I'm new here and don't get me wrong: I love the server! It's by far one the best that I've ever played. But from my explorations I'd like share some thoughts on things that could be tweaked/enhanced: [Creatures] Some creatures like the Wing of Ra, Calypso/Raptor/War Trolls, Warlocks, Demons and same-level monsters could drop 0-x platinum coins instead of dropping regular gold coins. I think no one who hunts highish level creatures is interested in looting gold. There also could be a bigger number of Demon Bosses varying in its difficulty and loot, much like Pharaohs, there could be Belial, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer (starts to sing Year Zero). More specifically: ► Ancalagon the Black: Could be stronger. ► Arm Of Wrath: The loot always comes inside of a bag. ► Ashtars: Could spawn 1 or 2 Orc Leaders/Berserkers. ► Blessed Wizard: Could be stronger. ► Boss Hydra (don't remember its name): It has more HP, but it still hits like a regular hydra. ► Demodras: Could be a lot more stronger. ► Giants: Could also be stronger, it seems like Behemoths hit way harder. ► Mutated Orcs: Could be stonger. ► Orcs in general: Could use a loot revamp. ► Succubus: It would make sense if it had a female sprite. ► Trolls: The main thing with the Calypso/Raptor/War is that they kind of mimic a Warlock. It would be nice if they had they own behavior and loot, something like this: Calypso: Since it's green, it could use some kind of poison attacks. It could drop DSM. War: Could slow you with some ice spells. Raptor: Could be the fastest one and attack with melee. [General] The map is great, but the I have the impression that people only stick around Vroengard. When you create your character you should be given an option to choose your city, but pointing that Vroengard is the capital. Also, to make it easier for the new players, the starting loot could countain the "Outcastian Explorer Book" or something, containing useful information about the age and task system, rules, collectibles, events... The Loot Channel, could have some differentiating colors, making it easier to read: 19:41 : Dragon Lord has dropped a dragon lance (Atk:47 Def:16), 2 dragon hams, 63 gold coins. [Items] Some bosses could drop enchanted items, nothing too game breaking, for instance: Orshabaal instead of dropping a regular MMS, could drop a Enhanced Mastermind Shield (37 def and +1 or +2 shielding skill) or I don't know, a Lighter MPA (Def 17 and +10 Speed). The greater variations, the more unique the set would feel to the users and more customizable to different playstyles. [ Regions ] ► Ezoland: Golden Armor Quest: Could have a variation of monsters, there isn't an upscaling difficulty up to the chest room, it's just a bunch of cyclops. ► Ghost Island: Very nice place, but it lacks interesting creatures and the platinum coin quest. Also the Warlock dead end. ► Ice Lands: Could use some new monsters/areas. ► Tarid: Southwest, a troll fortress and a sword quest. Southeast, there are some structures but nothing else. ► Vroengard: Northwest, on the "draconis land" theres a boat, but no teleport. Also the place doesn't lead you anywhere. [Site] The Quest Guide should be organized by level. Besides helping new players it would avoid situations like discovering that there is a Knight/Noble Armor Quest when you are level 200! ~~~~ Well, that's my two cents on the matter. Sorry for the long post and thank you for reading. Feel free to point any mistakes I made and I hope you find my suggestions helpful. Mr. Anderson. |

Hello! I have seen a lot of really cool/amazing suggestions in this thread, I am currently still reading it but I will have a more organized response in due time. What I really like is the option to start your character in a different city, as well as the Newbie Guide idea which would as you said detail how the task system, age system, etc works. However I'm sure God Qut will take a look at this thread sooner or later and give you a good response as well.. As I said I really like this suggestion thread, and will go more in depth on it later. Yeah this is certainly an awesome suggestions thread that has been thought out very well! ![]() I will try to answer one by one to every suggestion you made. At times I'll just explain the idea behind things if I think there isnt much tweaking to do and if I need some clarification, I'll ask you to elaborate. Alright, lets go! CREATURES ► Ancalagon the Black: Should it be stronger because of the EXP it gives isnt quite on par with its strength? ► Arm Of Wrath: True, there is no need to have any loot come out inside of a bag, its just a nuisance. ► Blessed Wizard: Does it give too little EXP atm, or what you thinkin? ► Learnean Hydra: The idea behind Learnean Hydra was this; It just has more HP, heals slightly better and maybe hits a little more. But it can drop some rares, that hydras cannot, such as Battle Spear or Avenger Spear. So its one of those "loot bosses", kind of. ► Demodras: Demodrases give ALOT of EXP, they are kind of hard to find, it was made out to be this rather rare monster that gives great EXP, there arent really any major Demodras spawns out there. Did you think of it like, it gives alot of EXP but its not really that good? ► Giants: Perhaps Giants could be tweaked, thats true, its actually one of those monsters that has been kind of forgotten. It doesnt stand out, nobody hunts them, its kind of one of those side monsters or so. ► Mutated Orcs: True, perhaps they should indeed be stronger, going to look into it. Been a while, I forgot how Mutant Orcs operate. ► Succubus: It would make sense if it had a female sprite. ► Trolls: Trolls are indeed a mimic of Warlocks, but they have a little more HP, give a bit more EXP and hit stronger. They can also drop rares like mastermind shield and so on, alot of stuff that warlocks dont usually drop. That was the idea, also its one of the oldest "custom" monster species in Outcast. But like you said, they dont have an identity or so. They could do something like Green Troll hits with a poison spell and so on, that would be a cool feature to them. Icey one hits with ice stuff etc. I'll continue with my reply and answer the rest of your great suggestions once I get home! |

[General] It is used to be possible to choose where you start from; Fendal, Tarid, Lithgow, Aberon, Vroengard and so on. It was like that for a long long time, many many years. Eventually we noticed that when people can choose, the community somehow gets divided. They will learn how certain cities are and never the other ones, even if a minimap is shown or so. People wouldnt find each other as well, things would be more divided. So then we decided that Vroengard would be the main point for starting out, the training monks would be there and everything else and it seemed to work perfectly. Now people hang around the depot and so on, its easier to meet up with people and organize things. Alot of the high levels hunt outside of Vroengard, in places like Tarid quest, Edron quest and so on. Vroengard is mostly used by lower level people. There are a few good spots out there, though, such as blessed shield quest. BUT, theres a BUT! I think there could be an Oracle, so that once you become familiar with the map (cities, huntspots and so on), you could choose which city you start out from. I think that would make sense, what do you think? Regarding the "Outcastian Explorer Book": Thats an excellent idea! Ive tried to add information everywhere but it seems that its still not enough, something like the book could really help new people get a grasp of whats going on in here. GM Xor also had an idea of some "sign" in the middle of depot that would include all kinds of important information related to starting out and finding your ways at the Outcast, that will be implemented as well but I havent gotten around to it yet. But yeah, the book, that would be a great way to get the attention of all the players starting out. Also, your suggestion about the colors of Loot Channel: Good thinking, Ive been meaning to do that for a while but it hasnt been on top of my list of priorities, so I kind of forgot about that idea. Going to look into it again today. Continuing with rest of the reply soon...

Okay, this will be a one big ass post. I'll try to keep things as clean as possible. Here we go! [Creatures] (Difficulty and combat) ► Ancagalon the Black/Demodras/Wing of Ra: To clarify my point: I agree Demodras are rare as they should be. But we've got 3 top tier dragons (Wings, Ancagalos and Demodras) that don't really differentiate themselves in terms of difficulty. They have the names of Big Badasses but they're no Alduin. But yes, Demodras should definitely hit harder, way harder. ► Blessed Wizard: They look like badasses but hit like a little girl. ► Demons: Demons on the other hand, have a notable difference in difficulty. Using stars to rate them I would say: Demon(*), Orshabaal(***) and Morgaroth(*****). So comparing against the dragons, we have less variety for a player between these 'levels'. The idea here: Demon (*), "Intermediary Demon Boss 1" (**), Orshabaal, "Intermediary Demon Boss 2" (****), Morgaroth (*****) ► Poison attacks: A interesting thing could be a heavy {Damage Per Second / Damage Over Time} with poison type attacks. Poisonous creatures, like a scorpion or some Warlock based (since they drop a Poison Dagger) could inflict a 150 dps for 5 seconds. ► Succubus: It could be some kind of Amazon/Valkyrie Boss! ► Vampires: This is a kind of a personal wish, but some tough vampires would be awesome, they have such a nice sprite. ![]() [Creatures] (Loot) ► Demodras: It could use a loot revamp. One could argue that very few people hunt them, but that's precisely my point: Why one would? Regarding the "lore friendly" drops: It would make a lot more sense having a badass dragon dropping DSL instead of Orshabaal. Why would I hunt different monsters when one drops it all? ► General thoughts on loot: With a greater number of monsters the repetition of drops becomes inevitable. That's where the variation of items and skill modifications (if possible) could play its part! For instance, let's say that Uglos and Osiris drop the same armor. Uglos, being strong, could carry the +1 Shielding or +1 something defensive/offensive, whereas the Osiris could carry the lighter (+speed or magic level) version. These items could stimulate trades between players. Regarding the gold drops on highish level monsters, like DLs/Demons and so on, it drops in and out of the bags. Forgetting for a moment that no one actually loots gold, it would make sense (2 drop chances), but when you look at the Loot Channel it looks like this: "21:55 : Monster has dropped a bag (Vol:8), 99 gold coins, 85 gold coins." It seems redundant. It gets even messier when the monster actualy drops an item: "00:00 : Dragon Lord has dropped a bag (Vol:8), 54 gold coins, a greenmushroom, a royal helmet (Arm:9), 2 gold coins." I know it seems that I'm whining a lot, but I'm just pointing that things could be cleaner and simpler :] [New Map Suggestions!] ► To clarify my first post, regions like southwest Tarid would make an excellent place to hunt, plus there's already a quest system implemented. If each region has scalability in terms of difficulty, there won't be any "meh" areas.. ► More Sign Posts! ► A new Locale/NPC: The Outcastian Pub/The Bartender. It could be a safe zone, so an alternative place to hangout besides the depot. Brawls could be resolved outside or the arena could be moved to its basement (it keeps sitting empty under the depot). Perhaps a prize in task points for the winner. He could sell beer/wine also have a kind a random rumor/quest generator, like bringing ingredients, killing a number of creatures or delivering an item (this would force players to go to different cities and explore).. Much like the one over the temple. ► Sewer system: The sewers are so underutilized, not only monsterwise but its the perfect place for some shady characters, like a black market npc or a renegade warrior. There could be some serious Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action going under the cities. (Or maybe Bane's army. Who knows!) ► The Vroengard Teleport Zone: Instead of using signs, some creature statues could indicate where the teleport leads. For instance, Ice Lands could be next to a Yeti statue/corpse or snowballs, snowman.. You get the idea.. ► Redundant Vroengard NPCs: There are two sets of repeated NPCs, Mordars (2nd and 3rd floor next to Depot) and Tiranos (depot and store). The second floor Mordar could be replaced by a NPC that buys gems, sapphires, scarab coins and precious stuff. [Quests] ► Mace Quest in Vroengard: 4 Orshabaals (+2 above) and 4 Demodras for a mace that's sold for 25k at the store doesn't make sense. ► Steel spear Quest: 2 points here: One, it's a considerably difficult quest for a Steel Spear. And the player that has traveled all the way over there probably just got one (or several) from the Hydras. ► Ornamented Shield: It also seems too little for such an effort. ► Winged and Horned Helmet: Horned's is waaay easier than Winged's quest. [Carry Capacity] This will probably be the most controversial suggestion, but here it goes: The capacity system seems way overpowered. A tweak would make it more vocationally balanced and also would make Cap Boost Bear way more attractive. ![]() [Client UI] A nice addition would be the option to have the health info on top of the screen! ![]() [Event] I see that there are lots of events. A tournament would be a nice addition. For instance: 0% loss inside the pit. There could be two modes: The "official" with rules like no magic walling, no talking about fight club and if its your first night you've got to fight. And the "carnage" where everything goes. Prize: There should be a registration fee for each category. 1St place would win 50% of the whole. 2Nd place, 33% and the 3rd, 17%. Or winner takes all. I made this to clarify the idea: ![]() Thanks for reading  |

Sweet nostalgic shit weezles! You are on point my good sir, and I am incredibly drunk! I will be editted this post as i go along, so please check up and take a look when you see fit.. I might have some new information for you! ---- 1. I absolutely love the idea of a new place to hang out besides the main temple in Vroengard. Think of it as a home away from home away from home.. This could also be a spot for new players attracted to the server! 2. The sewer system does look like it needs a bit of touching up.. I mean.. creation as well. Seeing as how it is as redundant as having rats as a spawn on the map it does need to be updated, perhaps revamped entirely. MUTANT NINJA TURTLES UNITE! 3. The teleport room in Vroengard is a very intriguing idea you have going on there. I really like the way it was presented not only that its straight to the point. I fully agree, and if I ever get the chance to remap the teleport system I will do so straight away and keep those interested, updated. I would love to see npcs/monsters with the names and locations of the places I am going to in place of signs.. it makes more sense!! ![]() 4. The redundant npcs around Vroengard it seams they are apart of Outcasts Original Creation.. while I agree with what your saying we need to keep some aspect of the past in the present without overriding what it currently is. perhaps change it to suit a future generation of outcast (move blessing npc inside building and switch stuff around and keep it as a strip mall) 5. Oooooh... Just you wait! We have a plethora of quests and challenges coming out that will knock your socks off with joy and excitement! However as for the quests currently in Vroengard I am afraid there are no current plans to make more challenging quests at this specific moment in time.. there may be for the future though! 6. Lastly your suggestion about the other cities being viably leveling spots is good, and I would love to see some guides written on where to hunt, since it could be incredibly good for not only the community but potential new players. HOWEVER I am more than happy to try and create something to what the community may like. Just check my stream every now and then when im mapping and drop a comment! <3 https://go.twitch.tv/desilusgrimheart/

Iceland, Ezoland and Ghostland will soon be re-vamped. I'll be adding some lower tier sets that can be obtained by going to quests at those islands, so the places will have more meaning. Also, Golden Armor quest will be made longer since its a little too short. I always skim through the thread, Mr Anderson, to remind me of these great ideas! Slowly implementing some of them into the game!
